At different points I have studied towards being a dietitian, video game writer, fiction writer, library technician, librarian and archivist, and editor. I also considered database development, web design, and teaching young children.
Last summer I revisited the idea of working with children because I enjoy being silly and making people laugh. Working at a toy store reinvigorated my interest further as I loved interacting with the children and families. At the same time, the older I've gotten the more I recognize the importance of and feel strongly about emotional support: how critical it is to a developing mind and the ripple effect it has on a child's current and future personal growth and relationships.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of British Columbia. My course interests were in 18th and 19th century gothic texts. I also have an Award of Achievement from the Game Writing Academy program at, then known as, UBC Continuing Studies.
My hobbies are action figure photography, story-driven video games, and Nordic Noir novels and dramas.
I have a BC Early Childhood Educator Assistant certificate.
